How we work

To ensure that the selected stone covering and design is laid out in the most optimum way and looks aesthetically appealing without any ugly corners, the technical department presets each dimension on a CAD drawing to fit the required spaces.

The in-house sampling department is equipped with up-to-date infrastructure to install mock-ups of complex designs and to preview and approve the specifications. They also check and sort out the technical complications. Therefore the company can provide an immediate and integral solution to any possible stone application.

There are very few organizations in the world that deal with specialized installation of stone and have such a strong and growing human resource base and vision.

In the west, stone is laid like tiles, which means that pre-cut and pre-polished pieces of stone are brought to the site and then pasted over a concrete base with special adhesives. This method saves a lot of time but it can only be adopted if the machines that cut the stone to size are highly calibrated. However, this method does have its drawbacks, mainly thick joints and slightly uneven levels.

To achieve “paper thin” butt joints and perfect levels, the stone should be cut with hand tools on the site and polished after installation, a process that is highly time consuming and labour intensive therefore expensive. In order to achieve this high quality standards, Sarvodaya does not cut corners, even though the costs go up. As the saying goes, when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. If the lowest bidder constructed the Taj Mahal, it would never have been the building that it is!

India’s Five Star hotels are a group of clients who expect the best standards of construction and finish, even if it comes at a slightly higher cost and that too within a very tight time schedule. This is particularly apt for the Oberoi group and Hotel Imperial in Delhi, both of whom have been our prestigious clients for a long time.
